Take a break in this quirky family-friendly cottage in the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and immerse yourself in the diverse surroundings on a walk at Whiteford Burrows and Bay and take in woodland, marshland and sand dunes. At the property itself, there’s a small woodland accessible directly from the pretty garden, meaning adventures are right on your doorstep.

On the ground floor, you’ll find the characterful living room which features a marvellous open fireplace, a selection of soft seating options and walls lined with books for you to read. The charm continues into the kitchen with exposed stone walls and wooden beams contrasting against the pastel kitchen cabinets perfectly balancing the old with the new. Head through to the dining room to enjoy a family feast with seating for up to twelve, with natural light brightening the space through the sliding glass door. Completing the lower level is a WC, utility room and a study room which is great for anyone needing peace and quiet. The first floor is where all the bedrooms lie, starting off with two double bedrooms, one of which boasts an en-suite bathroom. With a feature stonework wall, the king-size bedroom is a spacious room with a homely feel and can be made up as a twin upon request. In addition, there is a single room and a bunk room, both of which are well-suited to children. All the bedrooms share the use of a shower room and a bathroom. Outside in the garden, a circular table offers a space to dine alfresco on the terrace, whilst a second table seating eight can be found on a lower level. What’s more, there is a lawn with a pergola and seating to be enjoyed during spells of good weather.

There is a plethora of wonderful walks to be taken in the local area, from the Wales Coast Path accessible from Whiteford Bay to the moderately challenging climb of Llanmadoc Hill offering panoramic views out to sea. Explore the various sandy stretches located in this part of Wales, with Oxwich Bay (7 miles miles) and Mumbles (15 miles), the latter of which is well-known for their fantastic Welsh-Italian ice cream.

Only didnt give full marks for comfort is that although the house is absolutely lovely the mattress in the study bedroom wasnt very comfortable or the zip link ones in the twin/ double room. The other 2 double and bunk beds were absolutely fine.

The property was in an excellent location for exploring the Gower peninsula. Walking out straight from the property to some of the coastal walks without having to get in the car and drive enhanced our experience. It was a good size and had a very socialable feel about it which made it a comfortable and enjoyable stay for us with our friends. My onlRead morey less than positive comments would be some of the furnishings were a 'little tired' and it could do with a little more cleaning. These items didn't detract from our enjoyment but thought you would like to know. Hide
