Property code: OC-HH71

Set across two floors of a Victorian residence, this two-bedroomed apartment is close to all the attractions of Mumbles and a lovely local park. Full of country cottage style, this wonderful apartment is the perfect place to really unwind with friends or family in a fantastic location right by the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Period features flow throughout this duplex apartment, which is arranged across the first and second floors of a pretty terrace of Victorian villas that overlook Underhill Park. Light and bright, it emphasises quality time with a first-floor kitchen/diner that has access to a courtyard garden, alongside a welcoming lounge and stylish bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower. On the second floor are two peaceful bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twins; each has a feature fireplace while gas central heating ensures comfort whatever the weather. Sit in the courtyard garden with your morning coffee or a wind-down drink at the end of a busy day; if you want to stretch your legs, the park is just across the road and has a children’s playground as well as multiple sports pitches.

All the shops, eateries and attractions of Mumbles are within 1.5 miles, so once you’ve found a parking spot you could explore on foot – Oystermouth Castle on a high limestone ridge overlooking the village is especially stunning, while the Victorian pier combines traditional family fun with Grade II-listed credentials. Stroll along the seafront for a range of refreshment stops – the local ice-cream shops are legendary or, if you want to explore further afield, head 4.5 miles east to Swansea, the second-largest city in Wales. On the opposite side of the headland, Langland Bay has safe sands backed by traditional beach huts; sheltered from the predominant onshore winds, this is a surfing hot spot that’s equally impressive for strolls at sunset.

the flat was spacious, comfortable, great bed, very clean and reasonably equipped for cooking in. You might want to add on the inventory that there is a DAB radio for people like me who like to listen to a radio. We took our own but it was not needed. One thing is recycling and rubbish. The instructions for leaving say remove rubbish and recyclingRead more but there are no outside bins for this. The helpful staff member at the local office said dont worry the cleaners will do it but had I not asked I would have been stuck. Hide

We didn't really have time to look at the details on the website as it was a bit of a crisis. We had arrived in Mumbles to find we weren't expected at the property we thought we'd rented through another company. We were very impressed by the quick response of this company (around 7pm on a Saturday) and the property owner. This gave us somewhere to Read morestay that was actually better than the place we thought we'd booked. Minor issues were the kitchen tap seemed to be connected the wrong way around and guidance on waste and recycling was less clear than usual. Hide
