South Wales Events - July & August


Summer is here and it is festival time in South Wales. From singing to dancing to cheese there is something for everyone on offer!


Gower Festival

★ Saturday 1st to Saturday 15th July 2017 ★ ★ Taking place in various locations along the Gower Peninsula ★

Founded in 1976, the Gower Festival is still running strong! The festival is made up of classical music which are both sung and played on numerous instruments. What makes this festival unique compared to others is that all performances are set in churches. Each night, the performance takes place in a different church, enabling people to see large and quaint churches that they otherwise may never have seen.

The Big Cheese Festival

★ July 2017 - dates TBC ★ ★ Caerphilly Castle CF83 1JD ★

The Big Cheese Festival has one of the biggest food and drink marquees in Wales and as the organisers are expecting over 80,000 visitors to this wonderful free event they are going to need it! The Welsh produce stalls sell cake, wine, chocolate, liqueurs and plenty more. Visit on the Friday and watch the spectacular firework display and have fun with the funfair and entertainment.

Wales National Air Show

★ Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd July 2017 ★ ★ Swansea ★

Over 200,000 people visited the Wales National Air Show last year and the event is back again for 2017 and organisers are hoping for it to become a major annual event in South Wales. Returning to Swansea on the 1st and 2nd of July the show promises to thrill visitors with a great variety of aircraft taking to the skies. The full line-up has yet to be announced but watch this space!


★ August 2017 - dates TBC ★ ★ Woebley Castle, Llanrhidian, Swansea SA3 1HB ★

This live music festival proved so popular the last three years that it will be back again for 2017! With the fantastic backdrop of the stone walls of Woebley and the stunning Gower countryside you can dance the night away. With three stages the choice of music runs from pop to blues, from jazz to classical everyone will be able to find their grove!
