Reviews

Lovely spacious, comfortable property, great location. Had a fabulous holiday

Mrs M,

We have just come back from a wonderful holiday staying in this amazing house. The house was really big and spacious. My 2 teenagers loved their rooms and Sheila, the owner was so thoughtful with all the extra bits eg. a box with forgotten items, plus milk and Welsh cakes along with 2 folders of useful information and leaflets on the local area. The house is set in a lovely area with a very short walk to the lovely Rest Bay beach, where we did paddle boarding, surfing and body boarding. Plus we hired out bikes and went for lovely coastal walks. The other end of town - all walking distance - has amusements, rides and pubs with really great singers, plus another sandy beach. There's also various pubs to walk to for meals out etc. Plenty of things to do and visit in the area also.

Mrs Sally D,

We had a great week staying at this property which is in easy walking distance of the beautiful Rest Bay. We were impressed with the facilities at the house and the safe secure garden for our spaniel. He loved walks on the heathland at the end of the road and we enjoyed seeing some lovely sunsets over the sea. Our daughter had to work for a few days while we were away and found the upstairs bedroom/study very useful and the internet connection was very reliable. We would love to stay here again.

Mrs B,

Location

A detached bungalow located in a row of houses overlooking a sports field and only a few hundred meters from the sea, and near Rest Bay Beach. Nearby there are numerous attractions including the Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl Classic Carriages, Porthcawl Promenade Princess and Trecco Bay Fun Fair. The annual Elvis Festival in Porthcawl draws Elvis fans from all over the U.K and indeed the world.

Porthcawl lies between 2 large sand dunes, Merthyr Mawr to the East and Kenfig to the West and it was once the largest sand dune system in Europe. Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes claim fame is that it includes the highest single sand dune in Europe, known locally as the 'big dipper'. The dunes are very popular with kids, runners and local wildlife enthusiasts. Scenes from the famous film Lawrence of Arabia were filmed at the dunes.

Being only a short drive away from Cardiff and Swansea there are also plenty of shopping opportunities and large events that can be easily reached.
