The Milking Parlour is one of a group of holiday properties situated on an historic former farm, originally part of the estate serving Margam Abbey. The earliest buildings date back to medieval times and the entire farm is Grade II listed. A short walk from the cottage is the Kenfig National Nature Reserve, considered to be one of the finest in the country, a peaceful retreat for birdwatchers and nature lovers. Margam Abbey and Margam Country Park, with the Go Ape treetop visitor attraction, are just a stone's throw from the cottage. The nearby villages of North Cornelly and Pyle provide a range of local facilities, whilst Wales' top cities are also within easy reach: Swansea, 15 miles east and Cardiff 29 miles to the west.

"Very spacious cottage for two, with lovely beams in the bedroom. Well equipped, clean and tidy. The owners are very helpful and approachable."

The Milking Parlour is a spacious cottage, comfortably accommodating two people. Central heating (underfloor downstairs and radiator upstairs) and hot water via a biomass boiler, and WiFi is available. Converted from part of a former barn, there are sloping, beamed ceilings upstairs, but with good headroom. Entrance is via the former farmyard to the front of the property.

Open Plan Living Room: on the ground floor, with large rug over reclaimed wooden flooring, ample comfortable seating on a large corner sofa, Freeview TV, WiFi, circular pine dining table and four chairs.

Kitchen Area: fitted kitchen to one side of the open-plan living room, with integrated gas oven, gas hob, fridge with 3* freezer compartment, microwave. Door to rear.

A staircase rises from the living room, direct into the bedroom above.

Bedroom: with zip and link super king size bed (can be made up as twin on request).

En Suite Shower Room: with shower cubicle, WC, basin, shaver light, heated towel rail.

Outside: Private patio to rear with views over the fields. There is a shared laundry with washing machine. Guests also have access to a large shared paddock with picnic benches, brick built barbecue and yurt.

Parking: shared gravelled parking area for the group of cottages; unloading is permitted directly outside, but listing status prevents parking to the front of the property.

The Milking Parlour is part of Ty'n Cellar Farm. The owners live in the farmhouse and run a small B&B in the attached barn. They keep free range hens, ducks and geese. There are seven holiday cottages in the converted farm buildings, along with two small meeting rooms and an office. The properties are in close proximity to Margam Country Park (the park entrance is 1.5 miles away), with Margam Abbey, Orangery, Museum and the Go Ape treetop adventure trail providing attractions and activities for all the family. The nearby beaches of South Wales include Porthcawl, 5 miles, Aberavon, 6.5 miles, and the long, sandy stretches of Ogmore-by-Sea, Southerndown and Dunraven Bay 11-12 miles. There are plenty of visitor attractions, museums, galleries, theatres, shops, restaurants, marinas and a host of sporting venues in Swansea and Cardiff. Mountain bikers can enjoy the trails of Afan Forest, 10 miles away, and there are plenty of walks and waterfalls to explore in the Swansea Valley.
