Description

The Stables is the ground floor apartment of an attractive red stone building, the oldest in this group of listed farm buildings forming Ty’n Cellar Farm, formerly part of the Margam Abbey Estate. This apartment comfortably accommodates up to eight guests in two en suite family bedrooms, with a spacious, open plan living room. The Kenfig National Nature Reserve, one of the finest in Wales, is virtually on the doorstep. The Go Ape adventure trail through the trees is situate at nearby Margam Country Park, along with the castle, orangery and museum. The property is in an ideal, central location for visiting Wales’ principal cities of Swansea and Cardiff, and there are plenty of beaches and other attractions nearby.

This single storey ground floor apartment has its entrance direct from the former farmyard to the front; there is an another apartment (The Tack Room WAY236) above, approached from the rear and steps to the side. The Farm consists of seven holiday cottages in total, alongside the owners’ farmhouse and B&B, with two small meeting rooms and an office also on site. Heating and hot water is provided by biomass boiler and The Stables has underfloor heating throughout.

Accommodation:

Living Room: open plan, with large rug over wooden flooring, two leather suites, flat screen Freeview TV, desk, WiFi, dining table and eight chairs.

Kitchen Area: a fitted kitchen area to one side of the living room, with gas cooker (double oven) and extractor hood over, microwave, integrated fridge and plenty of storage. Freezer in Utility porch.

Bedroom One: Family bedroom with super king size bed (or twin if preferred) and a set of full sized bunk beds; attractively furnished.

En Suite: with dual-headed shower in large enclosure, WC, basin, shaver light and towel radiator.

Bedroom Two: A second family bedroom, also with super king size bed (or twin beds) and full sized bunk beds.

En Suite: with shower cubicle, WC, basin, shaver light and towel radiator.

Outside: there is a large, shared paddock nearby for children to run around and adults to relax, with yurt, picnic benches and barbecue; additional fields are home to the owners’ free range hens, ducks and geese.

Parking: unloading directly to the front of the property, the parking in shared gravelled parking area to the rear.

This is a good location for touring South Wales, visiting the many sights and attractions of Swansea and Cardiff, beautiful walks in the Swansea Valley, with picturesque waterfalls, and mountain biking at Afan ForestPorthcawl (5 miles) has sandy beaches and plenty of family attractions and facilities. There are also good beaches a little further away at Aberavon, Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown. And don’t forget to Go Ape amongst the trees of Margam Country Park, just 1.5 miles from the cottage!
