Location
Bwthyn Glyn holiday cottage, South Wales is a detached cottage set within the owners farm. Its in an ideal location on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and close to the Black Mountains. Nestled in the upper Swansea valley (9 miles from M4, Junction 45), where the mountains are tempting for walking and cycling, and the glorious Gower coastline is also only a short drive away, with its sandy beaches, wonderful wildlife and surfing.
The views from Bwthyn Glyn have to be seen to be believed. From the grounds you can gaze across Rhiwfawr and Gwrhyd Mountain, Allt-y-Grug and The Black Mountain with excellent walking straight from the door and with lots to see and do. Easily accessible is The Swansea Valley, Ystradgynlais and The Neath Valley. The Palleg Golf Course is only three fields away from this holiday cottage, South Wales. Also nearby is The Tredegar Arms offering friendly service and local food.
Visit Craig-Y-Nos Country Park (7 miles), Cefn-Yr-Erw Primate Sanctuary (5 miles) or the Dan Yr Ogof caves (7 miles), or for a unique day out take a picnic to the spectacular waterfalls of the Vale of Neath (9 miles). If you prefer culture to outdoor life, visit Hay-on-Wye with its wealth of bookshops and famous festival, only around an hour away by car, or come for the International Jazz Festival nearby in Brecon every August. Porth-yr-Ogof waterfalls, Aberdulais Falls, Cwm Clydach RSPB Reserve, Aberglasney Gardens, Carreg Cennen Castle, Afan Forest Park for mountain biking and Dinefwr Park are all within easy reach. If you fancy a spot of shopping visit Mumbles or perhaps Llandeilo. We're in a prime position to reach much of South Wales easily, and are always happy to recommend things to do and see.
If you don’t want to venture far, take a short stroll down into the village of Cwmtwrch and visit one of our friendly local pubs, or take a break from cooking and have a meal. The world famous Touratech Motor Cycle Centre is less than 2 miles from the property making it an ideal base if you are thinking of a motor bike tour around the area.
