Description
Barn 3 – with its painted Chicken on the slate sign above the door – is at the far end of this row of three cottages, converted from a stone Welsh longhouse on the owners' farm, Pen-Llwyn-Teg. This is a single storey studio-style apartment suitbale for a couple and is wheelchair accessible. To the front of the cottage is a garden table and bench, under the large porch, within a walled, gravelled courtyard. The cottage is heated by electric panel heaters.
Barn 3 can be booked for family groups in conjuntion with Barn 1 (WAY224 - sleeps 4) and Barn 2 (WAY225 - sleeps 6). No single sex groups and the properties are not suitable for all adult groups.
Entrance: from the courtyard into the open-plan living room
Living Room: Open plan studio apartment with laminate flooring, bedroom area with double bed, bedside tables with drawers and lamps, and a single wardrobe; living room area with sofa, coffee table, Freeview TV, dining table and two chairs; kitchen area with fitted units, electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer
Wet Room: with non-slip flooring, walk/wheel in shower enclosure with electric shower, wash basin, WC, extractor fan and heated towel rail; a frame can be provided for the WC if required
Outside: low maintenance paved and gravelled courtyard area to the front, enclosed by stone walling; table and bench under the porch; shared access to grassed area; shared utility area at the end of the row of cottages, with coin-operated washing machine and coin-operated tumble dryer
Parking: shared parking area to the front of the group of cottages
Plenty of places to visit nearby, including Dan yr Ogof Showcaves, Craig y Nos Country Park, Carreg Cennen Castle. Swansea is just 15 miles away and the long, sandy beach at Aberavon just under 20 miles. For golfers, the Celtic Minor Golf Course is just a mile from the cottage. Mountain Biking at Afan Forest, 18 miles. Pen-Llwyn-Teg Farm is set in a peaceful, rural location, ideal for visiting the Brecon Beacons and South Wales. Excellent walking in the area, nearby waterfalls in the Neath Valley, including Aberdulais Tin Works and Waterfalls (National Trust) near Neath, and Henrhyd Falls at Coelbren, famous as a film venue (Batman’s Bat Cave, Dark Knight Rises, Game of Thrones).
