Brecon Beacons birdsong comes as standard outside, while inside there’s a blend of classic and contemporary design, with high oak-beamed ceilings, a wood burner and mix of artwork adding ambience to the open-plan living space. The second is a super-king size room which can be made into twins on request and also has an en-suite shower room. Your living space extends outdoors, where there are landscaped topiary and herb gardens to explore as well as two terraced areas, one with a table, chairs, and BBQ. A garden/lawn is shared with the adjacent cottage and guests are also welcome to enjoy the owner’s historic grounds and gardens.

For the ultimate unwind, a beautiful spa room and sauna is close to the cottage, offering a range of massage therapies and beauty treatments; yoga, pilates or ballet lessons, guided walks and cycle rides and afternoon tea deliveries can all be booked with the owner. Just a mile away, the rural village of Craswall sits on the Monnow River; explore the ruins of its 12th-century priory and visit the pub for a taste of local life.

Beautiful tranquil location and great if you want to walks from the door. Comfortable and well equipped. The direct road to Hay-on-Wye is a little challenging.

The barn was so peaceful and in such an idyllic location. Cannot remember ever sleeping so well. We thoroughly enjoyed walks from the barn and a great location to explore nearby history and the black mountains. A wonderful departure send off from Kelly who gave my son Reiki and myself a massage. Will definitely book again in the future.

The barn was very warm and comfortable. The location is fantastic - rolling hills all around, and the Black Hill just behind. The resident sheep are always amusing to watch!
