Set on the grounds of a working farm with sheep and horses, this dog-friendly stone-built cottage for six offers a luxurious countryside escape with plenty of space for hosting dinner parties and evening entertainment in the games room. During the daytime, you can explore the mountains, historical landmarks and rural towns of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
As you enter the cottage, you’ll find yourself in the inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a stylish mix of neutral, blue and red tones throughout. The cosy lounge area is centred around an eye-catching exposed stone inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. Behind here is a wooden dining table and a bright ‘L’-shaped farmhouse style kitchen with wooden countertops and white cabinets. Also on the ground floor is a WC and a well-equipped games room with a pool table, darts board, TV, pinball machine and a PlayStation 3. Climb the stairs to find a hallway connecting a family shower room, a separate WC plus three bedrooms – an en-suite king-size with a pull-out trundle bed, a double with an additional single bed, and a king-size bedroom. Outside, you can make use of the BBQ and furniture in the enclosed garden and terrace.
Stroll around the grounds of the property to meet the animals during your stay in the tranquil village of Forest Coal Pit. Explore the eastern area of the Brecon Beacons National Park on foot or bike around the River Usk (6.5 miles), Sugar Loaf (6.5 miles) and the Black Mountains (7.5 miles). Step back in time with a visit to Clydach Gorge (12.5 miles) or take a picnic to the rolling hills of Llangattock Escarpment Nature Reserve (8.5 miles). Also within reach is the Welsh market town of Abergavenny (5 miles).
