Take your family and friends, and your four-legged companion, to this magnificent barn in the picturesque borderlands of England and Wales. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom, timber abode has been beautifully converted to provide stylish, characterful accommodation for a large party. Set within 30 acres of its own rolling farmland grounds, featuring a play area, it is 3 miles from Ewyas Harold, 14 miles from Abergavenny and just 6 miles from Bannau Brycheiniog, which is also known as the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Let yourselves in to discover an easy combination of original character and exceptional comfort. From the hall, wander through to the kitchen/diner to make a cup of tea to enjoy with a fresh Welsh cake from a local farm shop or bakery. Find everything you need to help you cater for your party with your own ingredients, plus ample space for dining together. There is also a utility room. Spread out into the inviting lounge, which is down some stairs, to stoke up the wood burner and switch on the Smart TV. Chat and listen to music in here too before making your way upstairs to the king-size bedroom, with an en-suite shower room, the double or one of the two twins. The family bathroom is also at this level. Take the children out to stroll through the farmland or spend time in the play area. Cook out on the BBQ, soak up the sunshine and sit around the fire pit on warm evenings enjoying the scenery as the sun sets.

Visit the ruins of Grosmont Castle, 5 miles from the barn. Lace up your walking boots and head into Bannau Brycheiniog; go climbing in the Black Mountains or hike out along Offa’s Dyke Path. Spend an afternoon in Abergavenny browsing in the independent shops.

  • 4 bedrooms – 1 en-suite king-size room, 1 double, and 2 twin rooms

This cottage was perfect for us, we were able to relax totally inside and out. The tree house and outside play area was a delight for children and their grown-ups. It's the place we just want to keep going back to. Ideal facilities and ideally situated.

Excellent in many ways: a quiet location, a good starting point for walks (with directions by the owners), a friendly welcome, comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, a cosy living room, in splendid surroundings. We (a family of eight adult Belgian tourists) utterly enjoyed our stay.

Shoppe Barn is spacious, warm and comfortable. The beds were wonderful and so were the lounge sofas (It's also cooler down there in the warm weather). As we were working we didn't venture out much but it was a delight to wake to just the sound of birds and the breeze and delight in the peace and quiet.

A lovely, cosy place to stay, very warm and full of character. Plenty of hot water and a generous amount of wood included for the stove. We had a very enjoyable weekend as a group of friends, walking from barn and further afield, visiting Symonds Yat, swimming in the Wye, and completing the Three Castles Walk.

The house was ideal for our holiday with 5 adults and 2 young girls (and a dog).. We had loads of space and enjoyed the dingle where there was a slide , play house and swings. Beautiful area and I definitely recommend the walk to the waterfall but check when the ice cream parlour is open!

We had a great stay here over Christmas. We were two families of four and one dog. The property is very clean and very well equipped. The layout is great to give children space to play and the kitchen has a nice seating area. Would love to return here and explore the area.

Lovely location. Really well presented dog-friendly property. Clean tidy and a lovely welcome basket on arrival. Instructions were very clear and good documentation about the house itself and other local amenities. We followed the local walks as recommended by the owner. We had a fantastic time.
