Escape with your loved ones to this delightful stone cottage sitting on a working farm in the heart of the Abergavenny countryside. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it’s the perfect accommodation choice for small families or groups of friends in search of a tranquil retreat in a characterful barn-conversion while they discover the hidden wonders of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons together. During the day, pack up a picnic and head off on a walk along Goytre Wharf. In the evening, come home to have a sizzling BBQ feast with your loved ones on the cottage’s pretty patio.

Step inside and you’ll find a spacious hallway leading to the inviting lounge. Take a moment to settle in and appreciate the cottage’s lovely blend of contemporary and classic decor. Then, head to the open-plan kitchen/dining room to whip up some dinner for your loved ones. Gather everyone in the bright dining area to eat, or head outside to enjoy an al fresco dinner on the patio. After dinner, warm your toes by the wood burner in the living area while treating yourself to a glass of wine. At the end of the day, there are two stylish bedrooms upstairs to choose from - one inviting double and one cosy twin.

Explore the well-preserved ruins of Abergavenny Castle (10 miles), which dates back to the 11th century. Take in the views from the motte and learn all about the castle’s history at the museum. Alternatively, head off on a leisurely canal boat ride or scenic walk along the Brecon and Abergavenny Canal (12.5 miles). Afterwards, pop into one of the local cafes for a sweet treat, or head into a cosy, canal-side pub to enjoy a relaxing pint.

The cottage was clean spacious and comfortable. Lots of thoughtful touches by the owners made it so lovely during our stay for example a well stocked library and board games.etc. The owners where very helpful and supportive and nothing was too much trouble and any minor issues sorted out very promptly.

We had a lovely family holiday in Wales. The cottage was ideal for us (2 adults, 10 year old and a 3 year old). The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting in front of the fire in the evenings. Would certainly recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely week in this spacious cottage in September. The owners have put a great deal of thought into providing everything to make their guests as comfortable as possible, even the central heating was on. A relaxing and remote location, set in beautiful countryside on a working farm. The closest pub is a genuine 10/15 minute walk away, dRead moreo take a torch if you go in the evening. As mentioned, the vehicle entrance is tight but we had no issues. Thank you James & Sarah. Hide

It's an excellent cottage; it's in a really quiet and peaceful location. Two huge bedrooms with ensuite felt luxurious! Has a great pub in 10 min walking distance, which does great food. Seems very easy to get anywhere you want to go in Wales by car. Owner really helpful with some daft questions we had!

A charming, comfortable, well equipped cottage, on a farm. Not far from Abergavenny, Pontypool, the Brecon Beacons. Lovely walks nearby. Not far to a pub which serves great food. An Aldi supermarket a short drive away. I had a lovely, relaxing week and will book this cottage again.
