A hidden gem set right on the estuary beach in a beautiful seaside village, set alongside a couple of similar properties, there is a real Scandinavian feel to this impossibly romantic location.

This coastal hideaway for two is in the picturesque village of Llansteffan. You’ll be less than 500 metres from the sandy beach, and within easy reach of the pubs, tearoom, and fish and chip shop in the village. Further afield, you’ll find independent shops and eateries in nearby Carmarthen (7.5 miles). In the evenings, snuggle up by the wood burner or light the BBQ for a beachside supper under the stars.

The detached lodge is reached via a rugged, beach track and is decorated in a style to reflect the surrounding landscape. The light and airy lounge/kitchen/diner is the ideal place to relax, with a cosy lounge area set in front of a wood burner and a Smart TV. The colourful kitchen area is a fun space to cook in, with everything needed for a self-catering break, and there’s a sweet dining table for sharing romantic dinners for two. When it’s time for bed, retire to the inviting king-size bedroom. Completing the property is a stylish bathroom. Outside, there is a decked area where you can sit and take in your peaceful surroundings. There’s also a portable BBQ for al fresco dining.

Stroll out of your front door and onto the golden sands of Llansteffan beach, where you can enjoy a picnic or a wander along the shoreline. The Wales Coast Path passes through the village, offering miles of unspoilt coastal walking, or you can embark on the popular circular route around the village, via the castle on the hill. This Norman fortress is a must for history enthusiasts, and is another great spot for a picnic with panoramic views as far as Worm’s Head. The town of Carmarthen is a must for the itinerary, with its quirky restaurants, outdoor markets, and art galleries to explore.

Great second stay at Mayfair. It is well equipped and in a very quiet location. Walks on the beach which is a stone throw away and although no direct view of the sea, perfect for us. Mayfair is a delightful cottage barely 100 yards from the beach. The Llansteffan area is beautiful. We loved our walks. We loved the feeling of space in the cabin. The colour scheme was bright and refreshing. The bedroom and bathroom, separate from the main living area, worked very well. It was perfect for a couple and a dog. We had an amazing holiday, the causeway is an experiance, but it didnt put us off. It was unfortunate some of the local attractions are no longer open. Everyone was really friendly and helpful.

Wish we had taken more note of previous comments about the access track. In a small car it is very bad. Hut bigger than we thought. Sofa as well as chaise lounge. Could do with decent outside chairs . Walk along the beach good. Village very friendly. Small view of water in between cabins in front. Feel it needs some TLC. We won't be returning.

Mayfair is a wonderful cabin. Fully equiped and cosy. We stayed in October and the place stayed warm, even with the doors and windows open. A comfortable and cosy cabin by the sea adjacent to beautiful sandy beach. Fairly basic throughout but more than adequate for its purpose. A lovely stroll along the beach takes you into the village centre. A great location for a seafront getaway and chill out holiday.

Shabby chic - but very comfortable for a holiday let. It was well equipped, had we needed to do any cooking other than prepare salads. our only criteria was that our cottage needed to be within a walk of a pub so we could avoid driving every day, and this walk was along the beach which was perfect.
