Less really does mean more at this dreamy couple’s retreat. Perfect for honeymoons and romantic getaways, this off-grid bothy sits by a running brook, with huge swathes of farmland and common on your doorstep. Light the oil lamps, curl up before the wood burner, and unwind in the wood-fired hot tub for an absolute couples’ escape.

Thought to have been an original shepherd’s dwelling on the farm where it now sits, this stone building that oozes history and character is accessed via a raised terrace. As part of your off-grid experience, a claw-foot bath is on the covered terrace outside, and a composting WC is housed separately but close-by. For a soul-soothing bathe beneath the stars, lay back in the wood-fired hot tub that comes with a plentiful supply of logs.

Explore the 50 acres of land within the farm, with woodland, streams and stunning views waiting to be discovered. With National trust common land surrounding you, this is the perfect setting for keen hikers. The dramatic Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park sit five miles to the south and offer some of the most breathtaking walks Wales has to offer. The cathedral town of Brecon is 19 miles away, and no visit is complete without a hike along the historic Offa’s Dyke just seven miles away. Quite possibly the most romantic cottage I have ever stayed in. Everything was just perfect from start to finish. The location is totally off grid and it felt like heaven to be away from reality for a weekend. A Magical stay.

Ty Bach is the perfect place to reset, recharge and relax in the stunning scenery of Wales. You quickly adapt to the rhythm of the cottage and living off grid, we have come home utterly in love with the Begwyns and beautiful Ty Bach. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a holiday as much.

The cottage is located on the owners farm but away in a corner in between trees so you really do feel completely private. We spent a weekend flitting between the jacuzzi and the sofa in front of the fire reading books and didnt leave the place at all. It was heaven. The compost loo certainly takes some getting used to (the breeze!!) but not too badRead more. Otherwise it has everything you need for cooking and all towels etc. We are planning our next trip to this special place. Hide

This is a very special little cabin in a beautiful setting! It is off grid but has everything you need to be comfortable and even enjoy some incredible luxuries like a hot bath or hot tub outside under the stars. Just a wonderful place to spend time, slow down and connect with the land and people around you.

I have stayed in a lot of cottages and cabins around the U.K. - I have to say, for a couples retreat Ty Bach was absolutely stunning. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel really comfortable. Whilst on the grounds of the farm, Ty Bach is so secluded and private. The scenery is stunning and the stream through the garden is gorgeous to fall asleepRead more to. Dont be afraid of the off grid nature, it was so nice not looking at a phone for 3 nights! It is so well equipped too! Big thank you to Sarah! Hide
