This pretty farm building has been converted into a comfortable, modern property in an idyllic and remote location, perfect for a tranquil couples' break.

Explore the forest and farmland or simply bask in the sunshine and soak up the serenity when stay at this barn in South Wales with your loved one. Nestled on the fringes of Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as Brecon Beacons National Park, the one-bedroom hideaway sleeps just two guests, but also welcomes a canine companion with open paws. From here head off on scenic walks or cycle rides, visit impressive beauty spots, including waterfalls, and spend time at the National Showcaves Centre for Wales, 9.5 miles away.

Let yourselves into the beautiful bolthole which is set on a working farm but enjoys its privacy. Make yourselves at home in the warm and welcoming lounge, with its exposed stonework and honey-coloured wood. Watch TV in here or read your books as you relax on the sofas, one of which can be transformed into a bed. Wander through to the kitchen/diner to find it is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay to rustle up delicious dinners for two with the Welsh produce you have bought. Dine together in here or out in the garden. When you are ready to retire for the night, climb the stairs up to the first floor of the barn, where your king-size bedroom and its en-suite bathroom are located. Indulge in a superb night’s sleep before awaking to have morning coffee and breakfast out in the sunshine of your sizeable lawned garden.

Stroll through the gorgeous grounds of 40-acre Craig-y-nos Country Park, 9 miles away, where the Victorian Craig-y-nos Castle is situated. Head 3 miles into Ystradgynlais to wander round a lovely park where historic mining ironworks can still be seen. Beautiful place to stay, location is great to be able to visit a variety of places in Wales. If you enjoy walking then this place is perfect as there are many on the doorstep. Enclosed garden is a great addition especially if you have a dog. Darryl is a fantastic host and nothing was too much trouble.

Highly recommend. What a lovely place, cottage, family and farm. We took our one year old Sheepadoodle, who had the time of his life rolling around the grass in the huge cottage garden, having a play date with one of the farm dogs, and running off lead in the fields & forests just meters from the cottage, also owned by the same family. Short car joRead moreurney to the town for food shops and petrol which was handy, and super central for loads of walks and countryside greenery. Loved every minute. Hide

Nice place, dog loved it. Garden was secure enough that our dog stayed in it ( You do have to go round side to get in) but be warned the farm dog jumps the fence and joins you. Ours thought this was great and we were more than happy to have them play but might not suit everyone. The bed was very soft, some people will love this, us not so much but Read morejust our personal preference. Would happily go back again, lots of nice walks within a fairly short drive. Hide

Great cottage in a fantastic location. Easy to access from the main road, considering the farm location. The cottage was warm, welcoming and well equipped and the secluded and secure rear garden was perfect for our dog. Even though it's on a working farm, the property was lovely and quiet and when inside the cottage you couldn't hear any farm noiseRead more. I would suggest taking a torch with you as if you did want to have a night walk, it's very dark :) We wouldn't hesitate to return to this cottage. Hide

A lovely warm and delightful little cottage. It was a perfect location for walking in the Brecon Beacons. It was also great to be able to take our dog and there was a dog friendly garden so he couldnt escape. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet, quirky & comfortable. Follow owner's directions, OS map is misleading. Best access to hill is across the stream, straight through the forest to the far end gate.
