Take your loved one and perhaps a precious pet to stay at this enticing Welsh bolthole in the charming village of Talgarth. From here, head out into beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons National Park, go hiking in the Black Mountains and visit the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye, 8 miles away. Sleeping just two guests, the delightful, one-bedroom retreat has a lovely lawned garden where you can bask in sunshine on summer days.
Open the door to the single-storey hideaway and make your way in to receive a warm welcome. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has been creatively designed to provide you with everything you will need during your stay. Open the French doors during fine weather and prepare delicious dinners for two in the kitchen. Dine at the table then snuggle up on the sofa in front of the Smart TV. There is also a useful utility room where you can keep your walking boots and wellies and rinse through any damp clothing after wet walks. When you are ready to enjoy a superb night’s sleep, head through to the double bedroom. Run yourself a hot bubble bath in the clawfoot bath in the bathroom or have a refreshing shower in the morning. Sit outside on warm evenings, enjoying a meal together as the sun goes down and have morning coffee out here on sunny mornings too.
Stroll just 1 mile from the cottage to see Bronllys Castle, a motte and bailey fortress, believed to date back as far as the 11th or 12 century. Talgarth Mill, 500 metres away, with its working water mill and independent outlets, is also well worth a visit. Venture 5.5 miles to scenic Llangorse Lake to wander along the shores or take a canoe or rowing boat out on the water.
