This welcoming holiday retreat is the starting point to numerous walking routes leading directly to the Fforest Fawr Geopark (11 miles), offering you an immersive experience in truly spectacular natural surroundings. Children in particular will love learning about farm life and eco-living, and meeting a variety of animals including sheep, pigs, cattle, hens – not to mention the diverse wildlife surrounding the farm such as red kites, buzzards, deer and Welsh mountain ponies.
This impressive dwelling exudes charm and character, starting with the wide hallway which features rustic slate-tiled flooring. The cottage’s central hub is the beautiful country-style kitchen, where you can cook up breakfasts and hearty dinners using fresh eggs, organic pork, beef and lamb purchased on the farm. A large oak dining table creates the perfect setting for wine-accompanied family meals, and there’s an additional seating area near the window that overlooks the farmland. In the separate living area, there’s a large inglenook fireplace housing a cosy wood burner – ideal for relaxing together in the evenings. For reading and sipping morning coffee, you’ll also have a sun-filled garden room with large French doors. Outside, the sheltered and enclosed garden contains garden furniture and a BBQ – this peaceful space will really come into its own in summer. An adjoining barn off the kitchen features a pool table for additional entertainment.
A number of experience days, such as sheep trekking, are available on the farm. When it’s time to explore your surroundings, you’ll be a 5.5-mile drive from the nearest pub and shops in Sennybridge. The vibrant market towns of Brecon and Llandovery are 14 and 15 miles away respectively, offering a variety of leisure amenities, cultural experiences and shopping for artisan goods.
