A pretty and romantic cottage covered in ivy and tucked away in the Black Mountains. This is the perfect spot to enjoy walks, bike rides or just admire the views, ideal for two people to escape the hustle and bustle.

With creeping ivy on its exterior and farmhouse features inside, this country cottage offers an utterly picturesque Brecon Beacons base. Surrounded by ample greenery and a lovely garden, this pretty holiday home is a fabulous choice for anyone looking for the peace and quiet that a rural location affords. It’s got walks and bike rides on its doorstep with mystical woodlands and the Black Mountain Region close by, made for outdoor adventurers. Sleeping three guests and two dogs, the accommodation is a superb selection for any small family or a couple eager to unwind with a little bit of extra space.

Step inside and be greeted by the galley kitchen with original farmhouse elements including a Belfast sink. Move through to the welcoming lounge/diner where exposed stone walls, low-hanging beams and a wonderful wood burner create the cosiest ambience to unwind in. The bathroom is also downstairs, making it easy to access whilst relaxing throughout the day. Move upstairs via an open tread staircase to reach the single bedroom, furnished with a king-size and a single bed. Finally, heading back out the front door you’ll find a grassy garden that’s enclosed and private, complete with garden furniture and a BBQ for those laid-back summer’s eves.

Whilst the larger tourist towns of Hay-on-Wye (10 miles) and Brecon (11 miles) are just a drive away, the property is within easy reach of the smaller market town of Talgarth (2 miles), a place with plenty of amenities to keep you going. On the outskirts of this, Pwll-y-Wrach Nature Reserve (3 miles) is an incredibly scenic place to walk with an easy route through woodlands and past a waterfall. Another easy-to-approach walk is Llangors Lake (4 miles), where you can follow the circular trail along the water.

No exit from in side house to back garden. Had to go out of front door and around to back garden. Found awkward with 2 dogs. Bear in mind access to cottage from main road is a single track lane and very windy used mostly by tractors. Found this quite stressful. Apart from these points enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely stay, it was cozy and quiet. Shops were a short drive away and we found some lovely walks for our dog. Had a nice bottle of wine left for us and the fire was appreciated after a long day out. Everything was nice and clean and had lots of books and DVDs in the cottage for days of bad weather. Thanks again for a lovely stay
