This traditional stone cottage offers a holiday of pure tranquillity in a highly remote location with only mountain ponies and sheep for neighbours! This rural getaway in the Brecon Beacons is perfect for couples or small families who thirst for adventure in the great outdoors.

Follow the 1-mile-long rutted track through the glorious hillside to find this charming cottage, where phenomenal views and a warming, cosy interior await you. Experience a trip back in time as you find yourself surrounded by an attractive open fire, an original bread oven and gorgeous exposed beams which flow all the way through the home. After chilly days exploring the Brecon Beacons, put your feet up in the living room with a mug of piping hot cocoa and strike up the open fireplace. Next door, a well-equipped kitchen is a delightful space to rustle up a hearty feast with the produce you’ve found on your travels. The timeless decor continues to flow through the upstairs bedrooms, which can be found by climbing the steep flight of stairs. A master bedroom boasts a double bed with exposed beams above, while the second is a cosy single room. Fabulous location for walkers or people seeking seclusion but close enough to all amenities . Perfect for dogs so long as they don't chase livestock , lots of sheep and ponies in the area . Our week was mainly wet but we still found plenty to entertain ourselves . Good cafes , pubs and restaurants neat to hand.

Hopefully the fact we have stayed here 8 times over the years says it all. If you want peace and quiet look no further. Walks are plentiful right from the door, if you need supplies Hay-on-Wye is only a short drive away. The perfect getaway cottage.

Wonderful cottage in a truly get-away-from-it-all location at the end of a long and remote track (you will need a decent 4x4 to get there). We had a great time there. You can go off for walks straight from the door. The place is on the edge of the moor in off the road so you drive over the moor to get to the house.
