Immerse yourselves in the scenic countryside of Mid Wales when you stay at this enticing stone cottage at Pontrobert. Sleeping six guests, and welcoming four-legged friends, the three-bedroom retreat is 6.5 miles from Llanfair Caereinion and 11.5 miles from Welshpool. Surrounded by a landscape featuring undulating hills, picturesque rivers and interesting footpaths, the cottage has a pretty garden for sunny days and a wood burner for the winter months. It is in an excellent location for anyone who enjoys walking and is well located for heading into Eryri, or Snowdonia National Park, for the day.
Step inside to find yourselves in a welcoming, farmhouse-style kitchen/diner, where you can put the kettle on and unpack any fresh produce you have sourced on your adventures. Find everything you need in here to help you cater for your family and friends, plus a table to gather round at mealtimes. Spend your evenings in front of a crackling wood burner, challenging each other on the Xbox, chatting or watching the Smart TV. There is also a WC on the ground floor. When eyelids begin to droop, climb the stairs up to the first floor to enjoy a good night’s sleep in one of the two double bedrooms or the twin. There is also a family bathroom up here. Make the most of the magnificent garden, dining out on the patio and watching the children and pups play on the grass on fine days.
Venture into Welshpool to potter in the colourful independent shops and pause in cafes and tea rooms. Head 9 miles to Lake Vyrnwy where you can walk along the shores, see waterfalls and try your hand at water sports. Impressive Eryri, with its multitude of outdoor activities and many beauty spots to visit and footpaths to follow, is 16.5 miles away.
