A traditional stone cottage with pretty garden right by a stream. Walk to village shop, pub and beach or explore Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful coastline.
This coastal retreat for families and couples is in the charming village of Llwyngwril, on the edge of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). It’s the perfect base for those seeking a holiday that combines traditional beach days with exhilarating mountain adventures. From the cottage, it’s easy to enjoy day trips to Aberdovey/Aberdyfi, Fairbourne, Corris, and Machynlleth (all within 15 miles). In the evenings, relax in the pretty garden or head down to the beach to watch the sun set.
The characterful period property is bursting with charm, and is decorated and furnished in a style to complement the original features. The cosy lounge is a real joy to relax in after a day of adventure, with its plush sofas to sink into and a roaring wood burner for those chilly nights. Rustle up delicious feasts in the kitchen, which overlooks the garden, and come together in the formal dining room for dinner parties and family celebrations. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms – a double and a twin – and a stylish family bathroom. Outside, relax in the enclosed cottage garden and listen to the gentle sound of the nearby stream and watch the local wildlife. There is outdoor furniture for al fresco dining, and a lawn where children and four-legged visitors can play.
Llwyngwril is a haven for walkers, with a myriad of hill tracks and woodland trails branching away from the village. Further afield, you’ll find exhilarating routes in Eryri National Park, such as Cadair Idris (16.5 miles) and Dolgoch Fall (10 miles). Just 300 metres from the village is a shingle beach, where you can enjoy a picnic or a spot of rock pooling. The beach is also renowned for its spectacular sunsets. For a traditional day at the seaside, head to the golden sands of Fairbourne Beach (3.5 miles).
