An iconic terrace of multi-coloured properties sits high above Tenby’s historic harbour, among them this contemporary self-catering apartment. Step through the main entrance and take the stairs or lift to the third floor where, once through your front door, you’ll find two steps leading to a stylish open-plan living space with breathtaking views out to sea. A perfect spot for chilled-out together-time, the room has a choice of comfortable sofas, a dining suite and kitchen area with granite worktops and all the essentials for a fuss-free stay. Three pretty sash windows frame your view of all the harbour activities, and there’s a Smart TV for home-style entertainment as the nights draw in. At bedtime, two peaceful rooms await – a double with an en-suite shower room and a pretty twin next door. A main bathroom with a corner bath ensures comfort and convenience for all.
Pembrokeshire’s largest town, Tenby, has a fascinating history, fabulous beaches, cobbled streets and a lively cafe culture – and it’s all on your doorstep. Head down to Harbour Beach with its fishermen’s chapel; just beyond, the golden sands of North Beach are dotted with rock pools and the prominent Goskar Rock. Only a small tower remains of Tenby Castle, perched on top of a hill and almost surrounded by the sea. At its foot, Castle Beach looks onto St Catherine’s Island and is the starting point for boat trips to Caldey Island, home to a Cistercian monastery and a charming village. At low tide, this beach joins up with the dune-backed, gently sloping sands of South Beach. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs through Tenby. Stretch your legs with a 4-mile stroll to Saundersfoot and you can catch the bus back, or head 11 miles in the opposite direction to Freshwater East ¬– with narrow paths, rocky verges and exposed conditions it’s a challenging trail, but the scenery is stunning.
