Nestled in the heart of the Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, which is managed by the Wildlife Trust, the property offers an excellent opportunity to really immerse yourself in Wales’s natural beauty – and hopefully, spot some of its elusive wildlife. There’s an on-site restaurant, children’s play park and gift shop, as well as a chance to meet resident water buffaloes which children will love. With one double bedroom and one bunk room, this dwelling is particularly well-suited to families and would also be great for a couple.
The cottage has an adorable rustic look, with traditional exposed white stone walls inside and out. Upon entering, you’ll be welcomed into a cosy, open-plan living area featuring comfortable sofas for reading or chatting with fellow guests. The kitchen area has a quaint farmhouse aesthetic and is fully equipped to cater to your culinary needs. In good weather, head outside to the small garden to enjoy al fresco meals on the garden bench. You’ll be surrounded by greenery and shrubs – be sure to listen out for birdsong and enjoy a spot of stargazing after nightfall.
When it’s time to head further afield, the nearby town of Cardigan is 4 miles away by road, but just 1.5 miles away on foot via a scenic footpath. There you’ll find a fabulous selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants to visit, along with the medieval Cardigan Castle which stands within beautiful grounds. The nearest beach is the picturesque Poppit Sands (7 miles), which is popular for windsurfing, kayaking and surfing. You can also join the renowned Pembrokeshire Coastal Path for windswept strolls through gasp-worthy scenery.
