Nestled in the heart of the Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, which is managed by the Wildlife Trust, the property offers an excellent opportunity to really immerse yourself in Wales’s natural beauty – and hopefully, spot some of its elusive wildlife. There’s an on-site restaurant, children’s play park and gift shop, as well as a chance to meet resident water buffaloes which children will love. With one double bedroom and one bunk room, this dwelling is particularly well-suited to families and would also be great for a couple.

The cottage has an adorable rustic look, with traditional exposed white stone walls inside and out. Upon entering, you’ll be welcomed into a cosy, open-plan living area featuring comfortable sofas for reading or chatting with fellow guests. The kitchen area has a quaint farmhouse aesthetic and is fully equipped to cater to your culinary needs. In good weather, head outside to the small garden to enjoy al fresco meals on the garden bench. You’ll be surrounded by greenery and shrubs – be sure to listen out for birdsong and enjoy a spot of stargazing after nightfall.

When it’s time to head further afield, the nearby town of Cardigan is 4 miles away by road, but just 1.5 miles away on foot via a scenic footpath. There you’ll find a fabulous selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants to visit, along with the medieval Cardigan Castle which stands within beautiful grounds. The nearest beach is the picturesque Poppit Sands (7 miles), which is popular for windsurfing, kayaking and surfing. You can also join the renowned Pembrokeshire Coastal Path for windswept strolls through gasp-worthy scenery.

Overall, one of our BEST holiday places ever, thank you. On arrival, finding milk, teabags, coffee, wine and chocolate was lovely and very much appreciated. Nice cosy cottage in an extraordinary valley. Be aware that although quiet most evenings and nights the cottage is situated in a very public place near the visitor centre and a playground. Really enjoyed the location. We are keen bird watchers and enjoy photography. The reserve is interesting and well managed. Excellent cafe. Cottage comfortable, as described. Local village shop handy. Thanks.

We were here for a week and had a wonderful time. Such a great location to enjoy the wetlands and woodlands from, and a very easy walk into Cardigan for everything that is there. It's a small space, but that was no surprise and we (3 adults) spent several evenings in playing cards. The kitchen has everything needed and the whole place was clean andRead more cosy. The visitor center is just across from the cottage, so we had a very lovely lunch there a couple of times. We would happily stay again. Hide

The cottage was bijou, snug and warm with good provision for everything needed inside and a nice picnic table outside where we sat and watched the wildlife every day.. Wonderful situation, good heating system, otherwise a little basic. The "double" bed is a standard but loced against 3 walls so one has to clamber over to get in or out. Probably good for newlyweds but I ended up sleeping in one of the bunks.

This is our second stay at Oak Tree Cottage & we enjoyed it as much as the first! The location is just amazing, it's so quiet in the mornings & evenings with so much wildlife to be seen. We loved the reserve but the cottage was horrible. Very cosy but dirty. Filthy under the beds and the bed sheets on the top bunk were covered in dust. The shower has no window and a bad fan, so it doesn't vent at all. Had to break out the mould cleaner on the bathtub (mould was not from us!). The cottage was small and whilst there are sufficient beds for four (2 adults and two children), being in such a small space with children and no TV or Wi-Fi could be a challenge if the weather was inclement. The cottage is great for its location, compact and warm. Suitable for an outdoor holiday. The cafe at the centre is brilliant for meals and snacks. On the Sunday we had a reserved table.

This is a great little cottage situated within the grounds of the Teifi Marshes Nature reserve. Would suit wildlife lovers and photographers who want to use the cottage as a base to stay. Although small the cottage is quaint and although no TV or wifi is a comfortable place to stay and great little kitchen
