Lovely stone property with games room and garden in quiet hamlet. Walk to the pub or pop to pretty Porthmadog. Perfect retreat for friends and family to relax or be active in Snowdonia National Park.

An attractive countryside escape enveloped by the rolling landscape of the Snowdonia National Park and set in the sleepy hamlet of Gellilydan. This relaxing abode is perfect for a multigenerational family escape or a getaway with friends plus a couple of waggy-tailed companions. Stroll cobbled streets, admire colourful buildings, and scoff fresh pasta in the Mediterranean-inspired fishing village of Portmeirion (8 miles). Back at base, throw open the French doors and congregate on the patio for a hearty outdoor feast.

Set across one floor, this spacious retreat boasts a fresh country interior with airy neutral hues, lightwood detailing, and cosy soft furnishings. Slip off boots and towel down muddy hounds in the hallway then gather for post-adventure snacks in the elegant kitchen/diner. Pour a tipple and potter in the kitchen with sleek dark cabinetry. Pop a bottle of bubbly, adorn the carved wooden dining table with a selection of tempting dishes, and then settle in for an evening of celebrations. Pad into the lounge and sink onto the plump sofas to indulge in a sweet treat. Unwind with a family favourite movie on the Smart TV or escape to the games for a high-stakes game of table football. Rest up in your choice of four inviting bedrooms, consisting of a chic en-suite king, two neat doubles, and a twin. Outdoors, little ones and furry friends can play on the grassy lawn while the adults cook up a sizzling feast on the charcoal BBQ.

Board the iconic Ffestiniog Heritage Railway (6 miles) to glide through the tranquil Welsh countryside in vintage style. Drink in the salty ocean air with a stroll along the coastline at Borth-y-Gest Beach (10 miles), then refuel with a fresh seafood supper on the bustling harbourfront of Porthmadog (9 miles).

My family and I have just returned from Snowdonia Stone Cottage, after a break over Christmas. The cottage is fantastic and there was plenty of room for all 7 of us (6 adults and 1 teenager), as well as our 2 dogs. The cottage is really well equipped and the hosts even put a Christmas tree up for us, which was a lovely touch. The hosts were also veRead morery accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed. Lastly the location is amazing, with an abundance of lovely walks close by. Thank you! Hide

We all enjoyed our stay. Suited all three generations of our family, comfy beds, space to be together or spread out and secure garden for the dogs. Great to have the pub 5 minutes round the corner that catered for families and did good food. Good location for the sea, Snowdon and beautiful country walks.
