This reverse-level cottage situated within a peaceful development is just a stone’s throw from the heart of Crickhowell. A great base for couples wanting to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park.

A delightful contemporary cottage in lively Crickhowell offers an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. This bright property sleeps two guests and is set in an attractive courtyard development. It has lovely views across the surrounding hills and is a 0.5-mile stroll from a good range of independent shops with local produce, restaurants and pubs. If you enjoy walking, cycling and climbing, head for the wealth of scenic mountain trails within easy reach. Other colourful market towns nearby, including Brecon (14 miles) and Abergavenny (6 miles), are perfect for a leisurely browse.

Pale wood and light colours enhance the cottage’s tranquil atmosphere. The ground floor houses a pretty double bedroom with French doors opening to a charming courtyard garden. A bathroom is also on this floor. Upstairs, the open-plan living lounge/diner has comfortable seating, a neat dining area and wonderful views from a large window with a Juliet balcony. A ladder leads to a cosy, mezzanine floor with a single bed, while the country-style galley kitchen has all you need to whip up tasty meals. Outside, the private garden has outdoor furniture and a bike shed.

Drop into the weekend art and crafts market in Crickhowell’s imposing former town hall and admire the town’s splendid 18th-century stone bridge across the beautiful River Usk. Join the towpath along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal, just outside the town, for a peaceful walk or cycle ride. Visit spectacular Tretower Court (3 miles), a magnificent medieval castle and restored court, with its great hall prepared for a feast. Bustling Abergavenny is renowned for great places to eat, and you can sample fine Welsh wines at a vineyard on the lower slopes of the landmark Sugar Loaf Mountain above the town.

A lovely, compact, cosy cottage well equipped and fantastically situated in a peaceful and very attractive part of Crickhowell. Everything (pubs, restaurants, shops etc) was within easy walking distance. The dedicated parking space was much appreciated. Great choice.

We can't recommend this place enough. So clean, cozy and peaceful. Views around this property are stunning, with plenty of hiking routes. We had a very enjoyable week at Acorns and will be coming back for sure!

Excellent cottage. Lovely setting in a quiet and. very pretty courtyard. Very warm and there was no need for the heating to be activated in the whole time we were there. Very comfortable bed and a very good shower. Very well placed for all amenities in town, moments away.

Everything in Acorns Cottage is just as described, and quite lovely. Having an extra sleep space gave the two of us some much-needed separation when needed. Walking to and from downtown Crick was a breeze. We appreciated the welcome snacks, coffee, and milk provided very much.

Lovely bright accommodation that was only a couple of miniutes walk from the lovely Crickhowell's town centre and handy for some scenic walks, including the strenuous walk up Table Mountain. The accommodation was comfortable and well resourced.
