The spacious holiday home is surrounded by breathtaking scenery in the hilltop village of Gwynfryn. Sleeping six guests, and with multiple social spaces both indoors and outside, it’s the perfect place to spend quality time with your nearest and dearest. The property sits on the edge of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, meaning you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking options. From the farmhouse, it’s easy to take excursions to the vibrant cities of Wrexham and Chester, as well as the picturesque, riverside town of Llangollen.
The farmhouse exudes character and charm, with beautiful exposed beams, original stonework, and delicate, country-cottage decor. A bright and airy kitchen provides the perfect spot to rustle up delicious feasts for the group and, down a couple of steps, you’ll find a spacious dining room for enjoying mealtimes together. Just off the kitchen is a handy utility room. After dinner, wander through to the inviting lounge, where you can catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV or chat about your day in front of the cosy wood burner. Alternatively, pour yourself a glass of wine and relax in the magnificent conservatory overlooking the garden. Upstairs, three gorgeous bedrooms await. One of the rooms has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a stylish family bathroom. Due to the period of the property, you will find characterful low doorways and areas of restricted head height throughout the farmhouse. Outside, enjoy an evening of al fresco entertaining in the enclosed garden, which boasts spectacular countryside views. Dine alfresco on the patio, soak in the hot tub, or challenge your fellow guests to a table football or air hockey match in the games room.
Wrexham (5.5 miles), which was recently awarded city status, makes a great day out. The city has a vibrant centre, with many independent shops, eateries, and galleries. There’s also a science discovery centre that’s great for kids and a museum detailing the city’s fascinating past. If you enjoy a potter around outdoor markets, head to the historic town of Mold (8.5 miles). Here, you can pick up delicious, fresh produce for your supper, along with locally made arts and crafts. Nearby family days out include Chester Zoo (21.5 miles) and Chirk Castle (13 miles).
