Surrounded by countryside and private woodland, this traditional stone cottage has smart contemporary styling throughout. With a wood burner, two beautiful bedrooms and an enclosed garden, it’s pet friendly and close to Pembrokeshire’s hills, coast and National Park.
One of two converted properties on a five-acre smallholding, this pretty cottage is approached via a quiet, tree-lined lane. Park in the farmyard then step inside to find an open-plan living space with a traditional slate floor and, in the lounge area, a corner-set wood burner. Enjoy evening chill-outs with family or friends – a Smart TV adds home-from-home entertainment – or gather in the adjacent dining area for board games and activity planning; the sleek kitchen is conveniently close by. When it’s time to retire, two first-floor bedrooms are smartly styled. Choose from a king-size bed or, in the second bedroom, twin beds that would be equally ideal for children or for adults who prefer not to share. A contemporary shower room completes the comfort for all. Enjoy the sounds of the countryside from the enclosed, gravelled courtyard garden to the rear of the property, where there’s a charcoal BBQ and outdoor seating. If you’d like to share your holiday with others, the neighbouring single-storey barn can be booked to accommodate a further four guests.
Visit the gorgeous market town of Narberth (4 miles) where multicoloured Edwardian and Georgian buildings line streets that are home to a great choice of eateries, boutiques and gift shops. There’s a railway station 1 mile out of town, and Narberth is well connected to Haverfordwest (12 miles) and, in the opposite direction, Carmarthen (21 miles). If you love the outdoors, don’t miss a trip to the Preseli Hills, 13.5 miles north. The moorland, heath and grassland offer ideal terrain for some great walking. For the best views head to Foel Eryr where, on a clear day, you should be able to see Ireland and Snowdonia. For gentler strolls on golden sands, head 8 miles south to Saundersfoot or 17 miles west to Broad Haven. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path presents plenty of further scenic routes.
