Step from the street through the glazed door and into the open-plan living space of this cute cottage, a bright yet cosy room where you can recharge after a day’s adventures. The kitchen area is equipped for preparing hearty breakfasts and tasty suppers, and there’s a dining table tucked under the stairs where you can enjoy your meals and plan your next activities. After dinner, snuggle up on the sofas and relax, perhaps with a show on the TV or a DVD. The charming and popular village of Aberdyfi is located at the mouth of the Dyfi Estuary as it flows into the sea, in the southern part of the Snowdonia National Park. Your cottage is just 200 metres from Aberdyfi’s gorgeous beach – 4 miles of golden sand with dunes behind, and where you can swim, sail and try out a variety of water sports. There are also boat trips from the harbour for fishing, wildlife-spotting and simply enjoying the gorgeous views. The village’s links course is a big draw for golfers, and there’s a good selection of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants in town. In Tywyn, 4.5 miles, you can go back in time with a vintage cinema and a steam railway, while if you’re feeling energetic head inland to climb the celebrated peaks of Cader Idris, 16 miles.
