Lamps still light the nearby 13th-century church. Nearby Cowbridge (3 miles) is a charming market town teeming with independent shops, restaurants, and bars waiting to be explored.

This lovely property, with a mezzanine level, is bright, spacious, and contemporary, offering a warm welcome and memorable stay. Downstairs, the stylish kitchen has all the necessary appliances to cook up a storm. After dinner, unwind in the open-plan lounge/diner with high ceilings, a wood burner, comfortable seating, and a Smart TV for movie nights. The family bathroom is on the ground floor, along with a twin bedroom with large glass doors leading to the patio area, perfect for enjoying a morning brew. Head up the oak and glass staircase to the mezzanine, where you’ll find a super-king-size bedroom with a Smart TV and an en-suite WC. Outside is an extended patio area stretching the length of the property, where you can sit and enjoy the quiet and natural surroundings. Opposite the main entrance to the cottage is a vegetable patch from which you are welcome to pick your own. At the far end of the vegetable patch is an enclosed lawned area.

Rugged and rocky Llantwit Major Beach, 4.5 miles away, is popular with surfers and offers stunning cliff walks. Barry Island (11.5 miles) is a favourite day trip for holidaymakers and locals alike, offering a seafront pleasure park with a good range of thrilling and family-friendly rides. History buffs will love a day exploring Dunraven Gatehouse and Castle (9 miles). Alternatively, spend a day in the Welsh capital, Cardiff (18 miles). This vibrant city has a castle, the National Museum, Bute Park, and tours of Dr Who locations.
