Porthmadog is a bustling estuary town with a rich maritime history, which can be explored at the fascinating Maritime Museum. The town has a great range of independent shops and eateries, as well as studios and galleries showcasing local talent. The town is a hub for narrow-gauge railway enthusiasts, and you can board the steam trains of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways to travel deep into Eryri National Park. For a day at the beach, Black Rock Sands is 3 miles away.
