Watch the cows and the sheep out in the fields and the birds in the skies above when you stay at this inviting farmhouse in Mid Wales. Sleeping seven guests, plus a four-legged friend, the four-bedroom period retreat nestles in undulating countryside near Llanfair Caereinion, 10 miles from Welshpool and 13.5 miles from Eryri or Snowdonia National Park. It sits in lovely lawned gardens where you can bask in the sunshine and absorb the views.

Head inside to find welcoming accommodation with underfloor heating and ample space for everyone. Wander through to the impressive kitchen/diner to rustle up delicious meals and to unwind on the sofa with a fresh cup of coffee. Call everyone to join you at the table when it’s time to eat. The lounge is another lovely space in which to gather to spend quality time. Find a good film on the Smart TV and enjoy movie nights in here together. A useful utility room and a WC are also downstairs. When day turns to night, make your way up to the floor upstairs to lay your head on your pillow for a superb night’s sleep. Here there are two king-sizes, one with an en-suite shower room, plus a twin and a single. Wake up to see the mist rising over the fields and enjoy a bath or shower in the family bathroom. Wander out into the garden on fine days to soak up the scenery and dine out in the fresh air. Cook supper on the BBQ and chat under the stars long into the balmy evening.

Stroll 3 miles into Llanfair Caereinion to take a ride along the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway. Drive 12.5 miles to spend time at the National Trust’s Powis Castle and Garden, where you can visit the impressive medieval castle.

A wonderful property, with such thoughtful owners. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. The area is so peaceful and beautiful that looking out of the windows is like looking at a painting.
