This beautiful, unique cottage in a peaceful setting in a sleepy hamlet makes the perfect retreat for a couple or small family and their canine companion. It has an enclosed, decked and terraced private garden and is next to the owner’s one-acre garden, and you’ll find scenic walks, pretty towns, and the River Clyweldg nearby.

The cottage has been thoughtfully furnished, with relaxed styling and thoughtful extras. Go into the hall and through to the kitchen/diner, where you can cook delicious meals and enjoy them at the table and bench seating opposite the doors that lead outside. The inviting lounge has a big sofa, a feature fireplace with a stove-effect electric fire, a Smart TV, and garden views through the French doors. There’s a stylish shower room on the ground floor and it’s up the wooden staircase to bed in the two pretty bedrooms, a double room and a king-size bedroom with a Smart TV and a lovely, big window. There’s also a handy desk on the landing. Take your evening drinks out to the table and chairs on the fenced, private decked area, light the fire pit and BBQ and enjoy the birdsong. As well as private parking for one car, there’s space for your bikes, canoes, and paddleboards.

There are lots of pretty walks nearby, including up Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range (14 miles), while Eryri (Snowdonia) is just 17.5 miles away. Ruthin, home to independent shops, eateries, footgolf, castles and museums (4.5 miles) is worth visiting, as is Denbigh (7 miles), with a good range of independent shops and eateries. Hit the sandy beach and wander along the promenade at Abergele (18.5 miles), or visit Llangollen (19.5 miles) for a ride on a steam train or a horse-drawn canal boat.

The cottage is well presented and is in good decorative order. Clearly only quality materials have been used in this conversion. Entry to the driveway requires a three point turn to be able to approach satisfactorily. Heating is very effective on colder evenings. The master bed is very comfortable. We had a lovely, peaceful stay in this cottage. The bedrooms were beautiful, although it took us to hunt around to find where to hang our clothes. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and consequently had the best nights sleep for a long time. In terms of cleanliness it couldn't be faulted and the kitchen was adequate for a short term stay. The lRead moreocal pub served wonderful Punjabi food and was a very short walk to the cottage. Would recommend this cottage for a short restful break. Hide

Lovely property and very peaceful setting in middle of a tiny village. We had a lovely stay and it is clean tidy and modern. The property and garden is dog friendly but be aware dogs are not allowed upstairs. Property had no curtains in any of the bedrooms at the time of our visit and with the floor to ceiling window in the main bedroom it meant anRead more early wake up. Entrance to property requires a 3 point turn or reverse up the drive if you approach from the main village. Hide
