After a great day out in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia, return home to this delightful stone cottage. Brimming with character and charm, and with breathtaking mountain views, it sleeps four guests, along with two canine companions. The cottage is set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Blaenau Ffestiniog, renowned as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a wealth of walking, climbing and cycling trails on the doorstep, and the coast within 12 miles, this is a perfect base for a family or group of friends looking for adventures.
Lovely period features in this cosy property include beams, latch doors, and a feature stone wall. Thoughtfully planned, it is furnished in a simple country style, enhancing the lovely views from every window. The spacious open-plan living area houses comfortable sofas and a wood burner set in an impressive granite fireplace, together with an all-white kitchen and a pretty dining table. Upstairs, there is a shower room and two inviting bedrooms - a double with a charming ornamental fireplace and a bunk room. Outside, climb 13 steps up to the enclosed garden with outdoor dining furniture and drink in spectacular mountain views.
For a taste of this magnificent landscape, take a ride on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways from Blaenau Ffestiniog to the coastal town of Porthmadog. This scenic 13.5-mile journey descends more than 210 metres down the mountains, past lakes and waterfalls and through forests. Test your fortitude with a visit to Zip World Caverns (3 miles). The atmospheric former slate mine has 13 challenging zip wires, rope bridges and much more to help you navigate the underground maze of caverns and tunnels. For a complete contrast, explore the Italianate fairy-tale village of Portmeirion (10 miles), and its beautiful gardens.
