Nestled within the picturesque village of Llandogo, near the Wye Valley Arts Centre, this charming single-storey cottage offers a tranquil retreat for small families and friends seeking to immerse themselves in the splendour of this National Landscape. Steeped in history, the lodge is part of the converted Lion Sawmill, once a hub of boatbuilding and furniture production. Today, it offers a peaceful sanctuary, accessed through the charming gardens at the rear, where chairs beckon you to unwind and soak in the serenity of the Wye Valley.

Step inside to discover a spacious kitchen/diner bathed in natural light, thoughtfully furnished for both comfort and practicality. Decorated with local artwork, this inviting space features a breakfast bar for casual meals and a sofa so you can relax while chatting with the designated chef of the day. The adjacent lounge beckons with plush sofas, a Smart TV/DVD, and a wood burner-effect electric fire, promising cosy evenings with loved ones. At the end of the day, retreat to one of two inviting bedrooms, including a generously sized double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a twin room. A white-tiled family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the accommodation. Outside, the garden offers a tranquil oasis for morning coffee and al fresco dining with open views stretching out to the rural landscape beyond.

Set against the backdrop of the River Wye, Llandogo invites you to explore its scenic river walks and abundant wildlife, while nearby Tintern boasts the majestic ruins of a 12th-century abbey, 3 miles away. The River Wye passes beside the village, beckoning kayakers and anglers alike, offering some of the finest fly fishing spots in the UK. Nature enthusiasts will delight in a range of outdoor activities at their fingertips, from traversing Offa's Dyke and the Wye Valley Trail to cycling along the National Cycle Trail. History buffs can embark on a journey through time, with many castles and Roman settlements dotting the landscape, all within 30 miles of your door.

The cottage was really well equipped. Beds comfortable bathrooms very good. I am being picky that I do not much like leather sofas, bit cold but not a real issue. Heating was a bit difficult to understand but owner was very good & sorted it out.

We had a wonderful stay, could not fault the lodge. Very comfortable, everything we needed. If we were to critic this property, it would be nice to have more comfortable seating for outside. A lovely, spotlessly clean cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage was spacious and extremely well equipped.
