This inviting holiday home for families and friends is in the rural village of Llanigon, on the northern edge of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). The cottage enjoys far-reaching countryside views and is a great base for keen walkers, with nearby highlights including the mountain peaks of Hay Bluff (4 miles) and Pen y Fan (19 miles). For a day of retail therapy, the bustling literary town of Hay-on-Wye is just 2 miles away.

The semi-detached cottage enjoys a peaceful location, set off a country lane. A stepped path leads to the front door, and inside, you’ll find a hallway for storing all your outdoor attire. From here, move through to the stylish lounge, where a plump corner sofa invites you to stretch out in front of the Smart TV or curl up with a good book. To the rear of the cottage is a contemporary kitchen, with glossy units, impressive countryside views, and all the equipment needed for a self-catering holiday. Completing the ground floor is a formal dining room and a handy utility room. The three relaxing bedrooms are upstairs, all enjoying tranquil, rural views. A spacious shower room rounds off the accommodation. Outside, the enclosed garden is arranged across different levels and has a choice of areas for al fresco dining.

Journey into Hay-on-Wye to amble along its pretty streets, popping into the many art galleries, antique stores, and, of course, book shops. The town also has a fantastic array of independent eateries. Outdoor enthusiasts can get out on the River Wye by hiring a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard, and walkers can explore the long-distance routes of the Wye Valley Walk or Offa’s Dyke Path. Cantref Adventure Farm is 17 miles away for a fun family day out.

Fantastic cottage for our family and in a brilliant location with beautiful countryside and great shopping in Haye on Wye. What we really liked was if we went to the right out the front door, we were in the Black Mountains climbing peaks and getting views. If we went to the left, we were in the Wye Valley, with riverside walks and beautiful wildlifRead moree, bookshops and cafes and Thursday market. A really well equipped kitchen for self catering and a really handy utility/drying room for walking gear. Hide

Wonderful location for our horse riding week exploring the black mountains. Superbly equipped house and lots of home comforts to make our stay really lovely. Spacious accommodation and everything you need. Its clear there has been a lot of thought put into this house - thank you! Close to Hay on Wye for provisions.
