At a glance

  • Quaint stone cottage with leafy enclosed garden
  • Less than 450 metres from sandy Amroth Beach and the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast Path
  • Cosy living space with features including wood burner and TV with cinema surround sound

Property code: OC-23949

This lovely beach cottage in Pembrokeshire, less than 500 metres from the sandy beach of Amroth, is pet-friendly and ideal for families or a group of friends looking for a peaceful holiday near the coast. Amroth beach is popular for windsurfing, swimming, and family beach games. Walkers will be in their element as the 186-mile Pembrokeshire Coastal Path starts here. The six-mile return walk to Saundersfoot offers a taste of unspoilt Pembrokeshire at its best.

A homely two-storey property where, on the ground floor, you’ll find a large lounge/dining room and a neat, fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare family favourites. The snug living room has exposed stone walls and a wood burner to keep off the chill while watching a movie on TV. From the kitchen, a staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find a large, contemporary bathroom and two bedrooms - one double, accessed via the second bedroom with a single bed and a bunk bed (the lower bunk bed is very low because of the eaves). Step outside and unwind in the mostly enclosed garden and enjoy a morning brew or dinner al fresco. The garden furniture is stored in the converted pigsty!

It’s a pleasure to explore this area of Wales, and two great family day trips away from the beach are Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (5 miles) and Manor Wildlife Park (9 miles). If you have brought your bikes, you can enjoy cycling the many quiet country lanes or spend the day at Llys y Fran Lake (17 miles), where you can indulge in water sports, fishing, and walking - perfect for all ages and abilities. Nearby Tenby (8 miles) is a pretty harbour town with three lovely beaches to explore and the chance to discover the 12th-century castle.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 family room with a single bed and bunk beds (please note bottom bunk is very low), 1 double room that is entered via the single and bunk bedroom
  • 1 bathroom with a shower over the bath, and WC
  • Electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer
  • Wood burner(Initial logs supplied for log burner during winter months only, from November onwards)
  • Storage heaters downstairs and log burner then warms the radiators
  • TV with cinema surround sound, DVD/CD player with iPod dock
  • Large enclosed lawn garden with garden furniture and BBQ (please note there are gaps that an unattended dog may be able to get through) – 10 acres of woodland run down to the seafront
  • Private parking for 1 car, additional parking for 3 cars in lane opposite (clear access must be left for farm vehicles)
  • Secure bike/water sports equipment storage in a converted pigsty
  • 2 Dogs are welcome at Bwthyn Amroth, however they are not permitted on the furniture or beds, please bring your dog bed with you and keep dogs on the floor

  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

A delightful cottage with a lovely garden, plenty of bushes for the dog to explore but also very secure. Cottage is just a short walk from Amroth beach and local shops. The beach at Wisemans Bridge is completely dog-friendly (no restrictions) and free parking here too. A lovely walk from here into Saundersfoot via 'The Dramway' is recommended. TwRead moreo pubs in Amroth both serving good food, beware the New Inn - the portions are huge!!. Hide

The enclosed garden was ideal for our two dogs who spent each day investigating the hedges and banks. Despite its small size Amroth two has a good selection of dog friendly pubs and cafes in walking distance while the nearby Colby Woodland Garden is ideal on lead dog walking territory.

We loved the cottage, coast, saw lots of dolphins and our high light was the island Skomer with thousands of puffins.

The cottage was clean, welcoming and just what we wanted for a break in winter with great access to the beach despite x2 storm warnings. The wood supply was most welcome to keep us cosy.
