Venture 19 miles into the impressive national park to have a day out at Blaenau Ffestiniog, the centre of Welsh slate mining. You can visit the Zip World Caverns experience here, with its underground zip lines, rope bridges and tunnels. Head 14.5 miles into the national park to enjoy the National Trust’s picturesque Craflwyn and Beddgelert, where you can walk through a wooded valley with lakes. Visit the colourful village of Port Meirion, 10.5 miles away, with its unusual architecture.
