Located on a working farm on the outskirts of Cardiff, this stylish apartment offers comfortable accommodation for lovers of both rural and urban attractions. It’s got a fishing lake and animals on the 240-acre site, as well as large lawned areas that are children will love playing in. The property has gorgeous views over the grounds from its kitchen-diner and has space for up to four over two bedrooms, so it is ideal for a family unit or two couples.

This first-floor flat has an open-plan living area with a large corner sofa where two extra guests can sleep if necessary. In the kitchen, you can relax at the breakfast bar or sit down for meals at the table; this attractive space has huge windows letting plenty of light in. The comfortable bedrooms have artwork on the walls, and one has an en-suite bathroom. You’ll share a patio with the downstairs apartment; this area is equipped with garden furniture so you can dine outside if you wish.

When it’s time to explore your surroundings, you’ll find a shop and two welcoming pubs in the nearby village of Peterston-super-Ely (750 metres) and further shopping and dining opportunities in Cardiff, 7.5 miles away. In the nearby area, there are plenty of cycling and walking opportunities; you can join the Valeways Millennium Heritage Trail in the village. Fancy a day out by the sea? Barry Island is a bustling coastal town 7 miles away while Southerndown (15 miles) has a more peaceful beach. Golf fans will find two courses, 1.5 and 3.5 miles away.

Fabulous location with great views of the countryside and the animals. We loved watching the horses grazing and being exercised with Meg the dog. Apartment very cosy with good kitchen and bathrooms. Helpful and friendly owners on site.

This is not a five star property. Beautiful location with easy parking. Bright and usable kitchen area . Nice dining area, though chairs were replaced during our stay. Excellent television, but the sofas/ settees had a tear in the covering, and were worn and very uncomfortable. Bedrooms were well-furnished, though, beds were not entirely comfortaRead moreble for us . Black mould in the shower rooms needed attention, but there was ample hot water and nice towels . Yet, we enjoyed the locality and its many interesting attractions. Hide

Lovely peaceful location with good views across the garden,pond and fields beyond from the large windows across the kitchen. Loved watching the 7 geese and 4 goslings parade around the pond and the racehorses being exercised. Very comfortable with everything needed for a self catering holiday, well prepared and very clean.Easy access to Cardiff, Read moreDyffryn( N,T) and the wonderful Museum of Welsh life and several beaches.Unfortunately the village shop and post office no longer open but a large super market easily reached about 3 moles way.Very friendly and helpful owner. We will certainly return in the future. Hide
