Generous accommodation and gorgeous views of the Cadair Idris range greet a party of six at this spacious Snowdonia retreat. There’s a large, enclosed garden where children and pets can play safely plus fabulous walks from the doorstep; when you want to explore further, pretty Dolgellau is just 2 miles away and the coast is within 8 miles.

Located within private grounds above the village of Llanelltyd, this striking single-storey property has space for everyone to enjoy spectacular mountain views from its comfortable lounge, where French doors lead onto a handsome terrace. All the self-catering essentials are provided in the large, modern kitchen where a central dining suite sets the scene for lively mealtime conversations. When it’s time to retire, three inviting bedrooms await. The master has garden views and a king-size bed; the second is a double with views over the lawn towards Cadair Idris, and the third is a cosy twin with mountain views. A bright bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower completes the home-from-home comfort. Make the most of the fresh mountain air and unwind in the garden – drink in the views as you sit on the patio or fire up the BBQ for an al fresco feast beneath the stars or warm up by the fire pit. The large, enclosed lawn area is a safe-play spot for children and canine companions.

A holiday here can be as busy or laid-back as you like; enjoy tranquil walks from your doorstep or explore Dolgellau (2 miles) – the handsome slate town has more listed buildings than any other town in Wales, plus an appetite-whetting choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants. The 9-mile Mawddach Trail is a lovely riverside walk from Dolgellau to Barmouth; enjoy breathtaking views of Cardigan Bay along with your ice cream at the end!

A lovely comfortable cottage, set in its own enclosed very pet friendly grounds. The owner was lovely and readily available if we needed anything. We will definitely be back, it was perfect.
