Lose yourselves in the beauty of Lake Bala and its surroundings when you retreat to this delightful cottage in North Wales. Nestled in scenic countryside between the Snowdonia National Park and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is just 5.5 miles from Bala and the lake. Sleeping two guests, but welcoming a canine companion as well, it makes a splendid retreat for couples.
Take four steps up to enter the fairy-tale stone cottage. Unpack any fresh provisions you have bought in Bala through in the kitchen/diner, popping the kettle on to make a cup of tea to enjoy with some Bara Brith. Watch TV as you relax at the table with your snack then start thinking about what to make for dinner. Set the table for your romantic meal and enjoy the views as you dine. Afterwards, wander through to the lounge to find a good film on TV through here. At the end of each day, climb the stairs up to the inviting double bedroom, which has the luxury of an en-suite bathroom and a TV. Soak up the sunshine out in the garden over breakfast, lunch and dinner in the summer months. There is private parking at the cottage.
Head down to the picturesque lake, also known as Llyn Tegid, for long walks or cycle rides. Go canoeing, kayaking, sailing or wind surfing here or take a trip on the narrow-gauge railway to take in the scenery from the comfort of a carriage. Have a day out to picture-postcard Llangollen, 16 miles away, with its interesting shops, riverside walks, canal boat trips and stream train rides. Those eager for a good long walk can follow the Llangollen Canal for 11 miles from Gledrid to the Horseshoe Falls via the impressive Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
