The modern kitchen has everything you need for cooking up evening meals, plus a dining table and chairs for meals together. In mild weather, you can make the most of the south-facing garden featuring a lawn, flower beds, a patio and furniture.

Hen Gapel is a lovely place to stay. Its beautiful tranquility is a major selling point. The house is lovely, with everything necessary to cook, clean and enjoy a few days peace and quiet. We went to the Co-Op in Machynlleth before we arrived and spent Friday afternoon - Saturday morning just enjoying the space. A much needed break in a stuRead morenning place, in a stunning house. We live in Wales but I enjoy going to Welsh speaking areas and exploring historical places. Definitely worth a visit. Hide

This is a well renovated, spotlessly clean cottage in the most gorgeous, peaceful location, tucked away in a hidden valley in the Cambrian mountains. If you want to get away from it all, take a holiday at Hen Gapel. Falling asleep and waking to the gentle rippling of the river, which runs right by the cottage, accompanied by the melodies of song thRead morerushes and blackbirds was a real treat. The garden is the best maintained of any holiday cottage weve stayed in. It is in a great location to explore the beautiful Dyfi valley and the southern ranges of Snowdonia around Cader Idris. A walkers and birders paradise. If you like steam railways then this is the area for you; theres a wide choice within easy reach. We also enjoyed the single track main line train right along the coast from Machynlleth to Harlech. Everything you need can be found at Machynlleth, just a 15 minute drive away. It is a characterful, relaxed town with a wide range of independent shops, as well as a well-stocked supermarket. Hide

Great location, warm and welcoming. The cottage was clean, and we were welcomed with a nice bottle of wine and nibbles. The cottage has all you need - just pick up your food and drinks from the local SPAR or Co-op. Broadband speed is good and very important as there is no phone signal for voice or data.
