Unwind and enjoy the picturesque countryside of West Wales when you book this delightful cottage for two. Set on a working farm, 1.5 miles from the village of Meifod and 8 miles from the bustling market town of Welshpool, it offers strolls beside the rivers Banwy and Vyrnwy, 700 metres of fishing and access to a shared games room, with dartboard and full-size pool table. With scenic footpaths and historic sights also within the surrounding area, this enticing, one-bedroom cottage makes a wonderful romantic retreat.

Let yourselves in to discover cosy rooms with a wealth of charm and appeal. Head straight through to the kitchen to unpack the fresh Welsh produce you have bought and to whip up a tasty meal for two to sit up to at the breakfast bar. If you fancy a more formal dinner, pass the bubbling dishes through to the adjoining lounge/diner and set them on the table. Open the French doors in the lounge/diner during the spring and summer months to bring in a pleasant breeze. After dinner, settle down on the soft seating with the TV on. The bedroom, a king bed which can also be set up as a two single beds if discussed in advance, is upstairs, together with the bathroom. Soak up the sunshine in the lawned garden, which is shared with the cottage next door, lighting the BBQ on occasion, or wander off to see the animals. There is private parking.

Spend time in Welshpool, browsing in the market and independent shops, and dining out in friendly pubs. Catch a heritage train from here to Llanfair Caereinion, taking in the magical scenery as you go. You can also meander down the Montgomery Canal on a canal boat. Take time out to see the National Trust’s Powis Castle and Garden, 7.5 miles away.

  • 1 super king bedroom (can also be arranged as two single beds on request)

Very cosy and comfortable cottage with everything we needed. Great to have enclosed garden for ease of early mornings with the dogs. It is in the heart of the busy dairy farm so be prepared for a bit of noise and bustle associated with that (it didnt disturb us at all). We were fascinated to see the milking from the viewing gallery. We also enjRead moreoyed a few games of pool in the games room in the barn. The host was very helpful pointing us in the right direction for walks. Hide

Absolutely amazing place. We loved watching the cows being milked then getting the milk and milkshakes from the vending machine. Beautiful location, and a fully stocked kitchen we could of made a roast dinner for 10 people
