Immerse yourself in the tranquil Welsh countryside in a rural retreat in spacious four-bed property near the coast in Snowdonia National Park. Inside, the large windows and glass doors showcase the spectacular views of the green landscape while also ensuring every room is bright and airy. After a long day of hiking through nature reserves, swimming in the sea and discovering hidden waterfalls and lakes, socialise with your guests in the large living space with an exposed stone inglenook fireplace with a wood burner.
Inside is a traditional cottage kitchen with wooden cabinets and a long dining table with bench seating and chairs. Continue into the living room, which has two large sofas, two armchairs and a window seat. The first bedroom is on the ground floor and has twin beds plus an en-suite. Climb the stairs to reach the modern and light family bathroom with a shower over the bath plus three bedrooms – two king-sized and a twin. Outside is an enclosed lawn and patio area with a BBQ and furniture.
During rural retreat Cwm Ystradllyn, set off for an adventure to the nearby Gorseddau Slate Quarry (7.5 miles) and the Moel Hebog hiking area (13 miles). If you fancy a night off from cooking, head to Porthmadog (5 miles) for a selection of independent eateries – while you’re there you could also visit the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway or the Maritime museum. Not far from here are the sandy shores of Cardigan Bay – like Criccieth Beach (4.5 miles) and Harlech Beach (14.5 miles) by Harlech Castle (14 miles). If you head deeper into Snowdonia National Park you’ll find the Craflwyn and Beddgelert nature reserve (11.5 miles), Gelert’s Grave (10 miles), Mount Snowdon (13.5 miles) and Cwmorthin Waterfall (16 miles).
