  • With sea views from most rooms, everyone will be able to drink in those vistas
  • The enclosed garden with its lawn and patio continues the coastal panoramas

Property code: OC-BOW52

Soak up the sea views from this charming cottage with a mix of original features and clean contemporary interiors. Wake up and watch the crashing waves with a coffee in hand from your bed before venturing out into Snowdonia National Park. Wander along the golden coastline or head inland to the mountainous landscape with hidden waterfalls and lush forests before dining alfresco in the enclosed garden which looks out across Cardigan Bay.

The upside-down layout of this property means that the bright and airy open-plan living area on the first floor benefits from unobstructed mountain and sea views. The lounge has modern Welsh-inspired decor with a stone wall, a wooden beamed ceiling and two plump sofas in front of the TV. Next to this area is a minimalist ‘U’-shaped kitchen with hints of a coastal theme, a breakfast bar on the peninsula and a dining table. Downstairs on the ground floor is a family bathroom, a storage cupboard and two bedrooms with sea views – a king-size and a double. Outside is an enclosed garden with a lawn, patio and rattan dining set.

During your stay on the coast of Snowdonia National Park in the small village of Llanber, there is a train station, church and seafood restaurant within 0.5 miles. The expansive sandy Benar Beach is less than 200 metres away where you can walk along the shore, all the way to Shell Island (9 miles). Delve into the history of Harlech Castle (9 miles), or visit Barmouth (2 miles) for an array of eateries and shops. Venture deeper into the national park to find Coed y Brenin Forest Park (16 miles), Cadair Idris (19 miles) and the picturesque village of Portmeirion (17 miles).

We had one of the best holidays for a long time. The cottage has marvellous views across to the Lleynn peninsula, Bardsley island and Snowdonia. It is an easy walk down to the beach which had remarkably few people on it. Except for when it was very windy the sea was calm and the swimming seems safe as the sand slopes very gradually. The bedrooms sRead moretayed cool in the hot weather but upstairs in the living area it was cosy on cooler or wet days. The kitchen is well supplied with equipment for cooking and easy to use. Alun was most helpful when there was something we couldnt find or do. Locally Barmouth is an interesting little seaside town and we had some excellent meals out at the Lobster Pot, Fanny Talbots and at Dylans just a short walk down the road. The wildflowers were abundant, the sand dunes are interesting and the Mawdach Trail is great easy walking with beautiful views. Hide

The cottage was delightful with great views of the beach and the sea. However there was no information as to how to access the beach which would have been really useful. We discovered towards the end of our holiday that there was access on to the beach south of the railway station. It is possible to access the beach by going through the caravan Read moresite across the road from the cottage but it was signed site clientele only. We think more information regarding beach access would have been really useful. Online info stated there would be a welcome pack on our arrival, however this constituted a packet of Welsh cakes and a small carton of milk. We dont consider this to be a welcome pack. Either a proper welcome pack should be provided or mention of it deleted from the website. However we had a very pleasant stay overall. Hide

A lovely cottage, with sea view and several restaurants nearby. We particularly liked the Bay View restaurant within easy walking distance. They offered great food with excellently service and reasonably priced. It is a great location near Barmouth and lots of walks and activities nearby.
