Head to Snowdonia National Park for a romantic retreat for two at this charming and characterful cottage in the lakeside town of Bala. Surround yourself with nature and make the most of the scenic walking routes, mountain biking trails and beauty spots nearby. Spend cosy evenings snuggled up on the sofa after enjoying a home-cooked meal in this homely property.

Step inside and feel the heat from the underfloor heating as you move across the open-plan living area. All in one sociable space beneath a wooden beamed ceiling is a farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden units, a lounge with a spacious sofa plus a dining table and chairs. Climb the stairs to reach the modern bathroom with a shower over the bath and a king-size bedroom with a slanted ceiling with beams. Outside is a small patio area with seating and a BBQ.

Start your day with a stroll into the centre (less than 0.5 miles) of the market town of Bala where you can grab a coffee and some breakfast before setting off on a walk around the largest natural lake in Wales – Bala lake (less than 0.5 miles). Just 3.5 miles away is the Aberhirnant national forest, or if you fancy a challenge, hike to the top of Aran Fawddwy (13 miles). For an action-packed day out, visit the National White Water Centre (4 miles) for some rafting. Or the Pistyll y Cain Waterfall (24 miles) in Coed y Brenin Forest Park offers a more relaxing afternoon out.

The cottage is conveniently located just five minutes from Bala lake in one direction and five minutes from the centre of the High street in the other. It is well equipped, comfortable and has lots of character. Car parking is immediately outside the cottage.

High standard complex more than most people would expect.

Accommodation was spotlessly clean and plenty of tea, coffee and milk in welcome pack. Located at the bottom of the town with plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops for all your needs.

Lovely clean cottage conversions with friendly helpful hosts and very good facilities, ideally and quietly situated at the end of the Main street close to a variety of shops, bars and eating places and only minutes from the lake. Highly recommend the Stori bar/shop where you can sample or purchase a large selection of Welsh beers, ciders, spirits Read moreand wines within 2 minutes walk. They even produce their very own (and very nice) gin at the back of the shop. Great value and one of the best cottage accommodation we have experienced. The location is also ideal for exploring north or mid Wales. Will certainly return. Hide

The outside area could be made more comfortable, chairs were too hard and straight back to be comfortable. More of a barbecue area too. The town itself is not a place for holiday makers in the evening.

This was a very enjoyable holiday venue. The cottage is an excellent place to stay and we enjoyed the whole week, especially with the fine weather.
