Experience life by the coast in this chic seaside cottage, sleeping four people. Families could easily spend a week relaxing on soft sands while the children discover treasure while rock pooling. Come rain or shine, this property makes a magnificent base from which to enjoy all that Porthcawl and surrounding areas have to offer.
Let yourselves in to this home-from-home and notice all the creature comforts your family will need. On the ground floor, a social lounge/diner is flooded with natural light, where many nights will be spent playing board games or catching up on the latest Netflix box sets. Make a fresh cup of tea and unwind in the generous sofa and armchair, while you watch the little ones play ball in the enclosed garden. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped for family meals, and also comes in handy for running through damp beach towels in the washing machine. Follow up to the first floor, where a master bedroom and snuggly twin room invite weary heads, whereas down the hall, a generously sized bathroom with a shower over the bath offers a long soak in the tub to top off the day. Back outside, plan your day’s events in the sea-air-filled garden, with a cuppa in hand.
Open the back gate and find yourself on the dunes of Newton Beach. This huge 3-mile stretch of golden sand is perfect for those wake-me-up walks or for having picnics with a spectacular view. Get adventurous at the new water sports centre, or go for a round of golf over at the Royal Porthcawl. Just behind the seafront Esplanade, an exciting range of boutiques, shops and cafés are sure to entice you in, while funfair rides, ice cream and beautiful sunsets can be had during the summer months. For keen ramblers, the Wales Coast Path runs straight into the middle of Porthcawl, where the pub can fill up your tank with light ales and beers.
