Overlooking glorious mountain and coastal views, this renovated farmhouse on the Llyn Peninsula boasts enjoyable walks within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as days spent relaxing at golden beaches. Ideal for family celebrations and spending quality time with your nearest and dearest, sleep eight guests in this detached retreat as well as two happy hounds, should they be visiting too!

Boasting many original features, such as exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace, this inviting home is the ultimate recuperation retreat for the troop. In the lounge, natter into the night on two cosy leather sofas, or fire up the wood burner and warm your toes after long hikes in the mountains. When it’s time for tea, the stylish kitchen/diner makes cooking up a feast a pleasure, with built-in appliances and ample space for your culinary needs. Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at the dining table for eight, or rally the group outside, where a tranquil country garden provides far-reaching views of the mountainside and coastline. Upstairs, four delightful bedrooms welcome you to rest. The first of the bedrooms is a tasteful king-size room which benefits from crisp linens and outstanding mountain and sea views. Along the hall, a double bedroom also offers these jaw-dropping views, while a pretty single has views towards the mountains. Offering choice in the sleeping arrangements, the last bedroom has three single beds, which can be set up as one super-king-size and a single via the zip-and-link feature. Completing the property is the wonderful social lawn space, where inspiring vistas and seats to enjoy them, are great for setting up your plans for the day.

From the doorstep of the property, meander through endless beauty in the Llyn Peninsula. With endless walks to explore, join this stretch of pathway to find the Wales Coast Path, where dramatic clifftops, incredible viewpoints and crashing waves make unforgettable memories for you and your guests. The seaside town of Pwllheli is less than 10 miles from the house and well worth a visit. Watch the boats come in at the marina, build sandcastles on the beach, or lace-up your walking boots ready for a Welsh adventure. Stock up on local produce at the market held on Wednesdays and Sundays in this bustling coastal town, or meander through the cute narrow streets which have swathes of independent shops, boutiques, dog-friendly pubs and award-winning restaurants. To continue the nautical adventure, 15 miles from the property sits the former fishing port of Abersoch, where a beautiful sandy beach faces the stunning Cardigan Bay and is home to a variety of restaurants, bars and a buzzing atmosphere.

Beautiful house in a stunning location. The view is incredible and we were lucky to have glorious weather so could see all along the coast! Everything was lovely in the house and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches like the fresh flowers, logs, and blankets on the beds. Very convenient location - access is up a narrow lane but there are plentRead morey of passing places and it is not far at all to the main road, then easy access to everywhere! There is a lovely walk through one of the gates near the stream (look for the one with the yellow arrow on it) which goes up the hillside for panoramic views. We loved our visit and would happily stay again. Hide

Cottage was immaculate, spacious and very cosy; views were spectacular. We loved that it's within a working farm and were so close to the animals. We witnessed the farmer herding the sheep in the field immediately opposite which was wonderful. It feels very peaceful and private, but not isolated. My dog absolutely loved it and really enjoyed thRead moree freedom. He's not great with other dogs at the moment so is rarely off lead. The fields are enclosed, but sheep did occasionally escape the fields and wonder around the garden so as long as we did a quick sweep beforehand and then provided supervision we felt relaxed letting him off lead to roam the grounds. He is well trained and there is potential for a less well behaved dog to jump low walls/fences so would advise caution. Of course, dogs should be kept on leads at all times when following the public footpaths. Highly recommend. Hide

There are a lot of superlatives in previous reviews of this cottage, they are all fully warranted. Maes y Llan is an excellent base for visiting the Lleyn Peninsula, which itself is very scenic & atmospheric. We intend to return to both at some stage in the future.

Fantastic farmhouse in a stunning location. We loved everything about the property. It was immaculately clean, super comfortable and well equipped. Everything was perfect!
