Escape with friends or family to this elegant coastal home on the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With space for eight plus a conservatory and a large garden, it’s close to the beach and can accommodate a couple of canine companions too. It’s a simple, contemporary retreat with classic style throughout and ensures a relaxing place to stay during your Gower holiday.
There’s a striking sense of style at this detached residence: a nod to the nautical with a neutral colour palette and complementary furniture. Window shutters add to the crisp appeal of the large lounge where there’s a feature fireplace, a choice of seating and, to one end, a scene-stealing fully-glazed conservatory that makes a glorious dining space. Doors open directly onto the garden from here – ideal for the dogs to wander in and out at will – and adjacent is a huge shaker-style kitchen that’s sure to inspire even the most reluctant of chefs. There’s plenty of room to chat as you share catering and clearing-up duties; a second lounge provides a snug space for more intimate catch-ups or younger guests’ TV time. A handy cloakroom completes the ground floor layout. Upstairs, the family bathroom features an impressive double-ended bath as well as a separate shower cubicle, and there’s an en-suite shower room with the first of the two king-size bedrooms. There are two further twin bedrooms; all four bedrooms have the same peaceful styling, with warm carpets underfoot and shuttered windows for a clutter-free look. A driveway at the front of the property provides parking for two cars, but it’s in the rear garden where you’ll spend most time. Beside the patio is a lovely lawn where children and pets can play, and an eight-seat dining suite where everyone can enjoy the sunshine and sea air.
The Gower is edged by breathtaking beaches and quiet Horton Beach is less than 200 metres from your doorstep. Neighbouring Port Eynon is popular for diving, sailing, surfing and windsurfing, and in summer there’s a lifeguard patrol for safe swimming. A 3.5-mile drive in the opposite direction, Oxwich Bay is the longest expanse of sand in South Gower, backed by dunes, woodland and cliffs.
