A four-bedroom, three-bathroom layout, sociable living spaces and large garden make it a great choice for a party of eight – two pets can join in the fun too! Unwind during a well-deserved holiday to this Gower retreat with wonderful country views and elegant style throughout.

Located in a quiet residential area within the village of Southgate, this airy holiday home offers a versatile setting for a gathering of friends or family. Time spent together is enhanced by a choice of two sitting rooms here; the first is a snug with a sofa, armchair and TV, while the second is larger with an L-shaped sofa and patio doors onto the garden. There’s also access to the outdoors from the open-plan kitchen/diner – great for dogs who can’t decide whether to snooze inside or out – alongside a range of shaker-style cabinets and all the self-catering essentials. A separate dining room for more formal mealtimes also has doors to the garden. Completing the convenience of the ground floor is a shower room close to the staircase. On the floor above, there’s a stylish family bathroom and four bedrooms: one has a super-king-side bed, en-suite shower room and wonderful views towards Three Cliffs Bay, the second has a double bed, and a third with bunk beds. The final bedroom has a king-size zip-and-link bed which can be made up as a twin on request. There’s much to admire inside here, but an additional wow factor awaits at the rear of the property, where the garden has a large lawn, lovely planting and a patio.

Village amenities are on the doorstep, while the beautiful beach at Three Cliffs Bay, with its stunning river valley and Norman Castle ruins, is a 4.5-mile drive away or can be reached with a walk across the links golf course at Pennard. Get away from the crowds at neighbouring Tor Bay, or discover more about the area at Gower Heritage Centre, an engaging cluster of craft workshops, teashops and other family attractions around a 12th-century water mill at Parkmill (3 miles).

First impression as we walked up the stairs, wow the view of the countryside from the panoramic window. This was a very comfortable house to holiday in, near beaches and a lovely walk up to local cafe and sea view. A spacious, comfortable, well furnished and equipped property. Ideally located for accessing various areas of The Gower and walks. We had a very relaxing fortnight at Trelau.

We had a fabulous week at Trealau! Location of the house is excellent, we particularly loved being able to walk out and not have to drive, the local village store and coffee shop are great and food was good at the Golf Club & The Southgate. Trealau is well equipped and perfect for 8 adults & 2 dogs, showers were fabulous and beds firm but comfortRead moreable. We were very fortunate with the weather and enjoyed days out at Oxwich & Rhossili beaches, the dogs really enjoyed going in the sea. On line supermarket delivery worked perfectly. This is a fabulous holiday house. It is extremely well appointed, comfortable with space for everyone. The view of sunsets from the master bedroom is sensational. Trelau really is a perfect place to stay and have a wonderful holiday.

We had a lovely time. This beautiful cottage was comfortable and very well appointed. It had a lovely enclosed garden for the dogs and was in a great location. We would highly recommend it.

A beautiful house. We stayed for X-mas and were very happy with the big kitchen, separate diningroom and the enormous living room. The house was very clean and definately big enough for 8 adults.

The cottage was lovely and in a great location. Such a shame that the house was cold when we got there and we had trouble getting it warm - took till next morning really. Couldn't work out what to do with general rubbish (and dog poo from garden - so we took that away) - but rest of recycling was clear and organised. A larger frying pan would be usRead moreeful.
