Set in a spectacular location, directly on a Gower Peninsula beach, this unique and charming property makes the perfect base for a group or family gathering, offering the space to sleep eight guests (with the option of two more on the sofa bed), and boasts an annexe that can sleep a further four guests. In prime position overlooking Pwll Du Beach, less than 500 metres from the shoreline, it offers a very special setting.
Formerly a smuggler’s inn, the cottage’s colourful past is evident throughout, with several characterful features - including flagstone floors - retained and restored, complemented by the stylish new interiors. Sit back in front of a crackling fire in the cosy lounge or gather in the inviting kitchen/diner that’s been artfully designed to resemble the kind of kitchen you’d find on a ship with its industrial steel and wood combo. Upstairs, you’ll find the family bathroom and three bedrooms; a super-king-size room, a spacious family room with a double and a single bed, and a second family room with a double/single bunk bed combination. This last room also has an en-suite. Outside, climb the stone steps which lead into an enclosed, lawned garden boasting breathtaking sea views. There’s even a resident flock of free-range hens, so you can enjoy delicious eggs daily.
This charming cottage offers plenty of peace and privacy, but if you want to explore beyond the shores of Pwll Du Beach, you can venture a further 2 miles to Pobbles Bay – popular but secluded, it is a lovely sandy cove ideal for young families. Travel 7 miles to the famous Mumbles village and its spectrum of colourful houses, lively seaside entertainments and welcoming eateries, or just 10 miles away is the cosmopolitan city of Swansea.
